Threaded publications update

The BioMed Central blog highlights a recent meeting that brought together publishers and CrossRef to discuss how to build upon previous work (digital-object identifier (DOI) and the CrossMark tool) undertaken to implement the concept of threaded publications. The meeting aimed to reach consensus on what additional metadata should be captured within the threaded information and a model was proposed for a widget to capture essential trial information and help publishers to link published articles to clinical trial records. Participants at the meeting agreed that a working group would be formed to advance the development of the threaded publication concept.
