CAHPR evening workshop: Writing skills

15/05/2018

Join UK EQUATOR Centre trainer Jen de Beyer at the Council for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) Oxford local group for a writing skills session on how to edit your own words.

The next Council for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) Oxford local group meeting is an interactive writing skills workshop presented by CSM and UK EQUATOR Centre trainer Jen de Beyer. The session will discuss the process of editing your own words, to take you from a rough draft to a polished manuscript ready for publication.

We will discuss the purpose of writing and how style can help or hinder. We’ll talk about the three elements of good academic writing – simple, clear, and complete – and look at style and editing tips to promote them. We’ll practice balancing the three elements of good writing using samples throughout the session.

We will have some time at the end for you to apply what you have learnt to your own piece of writing. Please bring along a short piece that you are comfortable working with in pairs or groups.
