Editing medical journals: short course

Description: The world of medical publishing is facing huge changes and journal editors are expected to ensure success in the face of increasing expectations from authors, reviewers, publishers and readers. This two-day course, now in its 15th year, looks at the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to run a successful publication – recognising that most editors are full-time scientists and clinicians and not full-time editors. The course looks at relationships that editors need to cultivate with authors, readers, reviewers and other members of the editorial team; and investigates strategies to improve efficiencies and quality.
