EQUATOR education programme development progress

EQUATOR is directing great effort into the development of an education programme targeting all those involved in the process of publishing and using health research. This includes publishers, journal editors, peer-reviewers and authors of research papers.
In the next few months the prime focus in this programme is to pilot initiatives for educating post-graduate students in the clinical/health-related field and early-career researchers. We have been delighted by the enthusiastic response of institutions wishing to work with us to pilot EQUATOR training. In particular we are working very closely with the University of Oxford Medical Sciences Division. Pilot activities include:
Other areas we plan to develop in the future include stand-alone online training courses and additions to other established courses such as NHS GCP training.

- Research Integrity Seminar - 'EQUATOR Network: promoting transparent and accurate reporting of research studies'. This will be made available as a podcast and also will be developed into educational material working with Oxford University Computing Service (OUCS).
- MSc in Evidence based Medicine - EQUATOR will be included in modules on research ethics and research methods.
- DPhil student workshops at 2 levels for 'Organising your research for publication'
