Monitoring use of our resources
We regularly monitor volume of traffic on our website and summarise the main findings on this page. The information should be useful to journals and other organisations to see how frequently EQUATOR links provided on their pages are used by their visitors.

EQUATOR website traffic - third year (1 Oct 09 - 30 Sept 10)
This year (1 October 2009 - 30 September 2010) our website attracted 58,381 visits; this represents an increase of over 22,000 visits compared with the previous year (1 Oct 2008 – 30 Sept 2009; total visits 35,561).
The attached summary shows the geographical spread of our users and lists the countries with the greatest number of users of our resources. The majority came from Europe (24,000 visits), closely followed by the Americas (23,000).
We also monitor how the EQUATOR website is accessed from medical journals sites and other information portals. This year, most users came from the BMJ group of journals (almost 3,000).
A list of journals and organisations that link to our website is provided here. If you cannot see your journal or organisation in the list but you do encourage the use of our resources please let us know and we will add your name to the list.

EQUATOR website traffic - second year after its launch (1 Oct 08 - 30 Sept 09)
During the last year (1 October 2008 - 30 September 2009) we counted a total number of 35,561 visits. This indicates that our website traffic increased by over 14,000 visits in comparison with the previous year when we launched the site (1 Oct 2007 - 30 Sept 2008; total visits 21,341).
The majority of our users came from Europe (15,123 visits), closely followed by the users from Americas (14,253). The attached summary shows from which continents and countries our website was accessed most frequently.
We also monitored how the EQUATOR website was accessed from medical journals and information portals in this period.

More and more journals link to EQUATOR resources in their instructions to authors.
