ANNUAL LECTURE 2012: Reporting and reproducible research: salvaging the self-correction principle of science

John Ioannidis, Professor of Medicine, Health Research and Policy, and Statistics, Stanford University, USA, presented the 4th EQUATOR Annual Lecture at the close of the symposium ‘ACT now: Accuracy, Completeness, and Transparency in health research reporting’ which was held from 11-12 October 2012 in Freiburg, Germany.

Professor Ioannidis discussed evidence and preliminary data on reproducibility checks in different fields, and offered some suggestions about steps to move forward as well as caveats about potential harms in trying to maximize reproducibility practices.
