Better Reporting of Scientific Studies: Why It Matters

To coincide with the Seventh International Congress on Peer Review and Biomedical Publication to be held in Chicago from September 8 to 10, 2013, PLOS Medicine is launching a new Reporting Guidelines Collection, an open access collection of reporting guidelines, commentary, and related research on guidelines from across PLOS journals (read more in the new PLoS editorial)

A novel open-science initiative that provides a platform for authors of recently published articles in psychology to disclose four methodological design specification details that are not required to be disclosed under current reporting standards but that are critical for accurate interpretation and evaluation of reported findings.
